You Are Still Here 2025
You Are Still Here continues my ongoing series built from a salvaged Rite Aid sign. Centered on the capital “I,” its front is stripped down with black-out paint and blocks of redacted light, while the reverse holds printed messages that project, via reflection and shadow, onto an adjacent black panel. These texts address disappearance, erasure, and redaction—yet are cast into view—creating a tension between absence and presence. Written in the second person, they mirror the self implied by the first-person pronoun, turning the work into both a reflection and a confrontation.
